We are excited to announce that our collaborative team (PI: Dr. Kurt, co-PIs: Dr. Zhang, Dr. Weickenmeier, and Dr. Balchandani) was awarded $2,000,000 by the National Science Foundation for the project titled "Tackling Brain Diseases with Mechanics: A Data-Driven Approach to Merge Advanced Neuroimaging and Multi-Physics Modeling"! This proposal will support research to understand the biomechanics of the brain through a combination of ultrahigh field MR techniques and multi-physics modeling to tackle and understand brain diseases, such as traumatic brain injury. We can't wait to get started!

KurtLab is pleased to announce that we have been awarded $35,000 for our “Real-time Concussion Monitoring in Contact Sports through Wearable Sensors” proposal by the New Jersey Health Foundation. This project will combine state-of-the-art wearable sensors with machine-learning algorithms to learn and predict neuromechanical responses in soccer players. This one year award will sponsor this research project from February 2020 through February 2021.
